Higher education minister underlines importance of scientific researches city in transferring technology

The minister gave the remarks during a meeting with the city board members in the presence of the director of the city Mona Mahmoud Abdel Latif and other officials.
The minister directed centers and institutes to increase local industries and cooperate through regional alliances that were signed with industrial and production institutions across the nation to achieve development boom.
He also underlined the importance of utilizing scientific research to serve industry and face challenges facing economic growth, stressing that applied scientific research is the base of industry.
The director of the city said the city seeks to achieve an increase in the number of scientific researches that were internationally published in scientific journals as well as improve the city’s rating in all international ranking.
In 2023, she said 494 international scientific research were published (129 research in the agriculture and food domain at a rate of 26.11%, 158 in the health and population domain at a rate of 31.98%, 73 researches in the technological applications and future sciences domain at a rate of 14.77%, and 26 researches in the water domain at a rate of 5.26%, 46 papers in the energy axis at a rate of 9.31%, 40 papers in the environment and protection of natural resources domain at a rate of 8.1%, and 22 papers in the information technology, communications, and space domain at a rate of 4.45%.
This comes as part of the strategic plan to upgrade scientific research mechanism in Egypt, she added.
