In a poignant gesture of appreciation and national recognition, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi attended on Thursday the wedding ceremony of Amira, daughter of Brigadier General Mohamed Saad Mustafa Ayad, who was killed in the line of duty on November 28, 2014 while serving his country and the Egyptian Armed Forces.
The president’s attendance fulfilled a heartfelt promise made to Amira in 2018, during the graduation ceremony of a new cohort of Police Academy cadets.
On that occasion, Amira shared with the president her deeply cherished wish that her late father could be present on her wedding day.
In response, the President assured her that, if his presence would bring her comfort, he would attend.
Eight years after that touching exchange, the President honoured his word, standing alongside Amira on one of the most significant occasions of her life.
