Egypt’s Minister of Planning and Economic Development Ahmed Rostom held a series of bilateral meetings on Monday with officials and representatives of international and regional institutions to discuss strengthening economic ties.
This was on the sidelines of his visit to the UAE to participate in the 15th AIM Investment Summit at Dubai World Trade Centre, held under the theme “Towards a New Global Prosperity: Reshaping the Future of Investment for Inclusive and Sustainable Development.”
Rostom met Vijay Krishnan, Chief Financial Officer of Americana Foods, and Saqib Awan, the group’s General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, to discuss expanding co-operation and supporting the company’s plans to expand in the Egyptian market.
Rostom said Egypt has promising potential and a strategic logistics location that can help expand value chains in food and agricultural manufacturing.
He also highlighted growth recorded across several sectors during the 2025/26 fiscal year, along with declining unemployment and inflation rates, reflecting the resilience and sustainability of economic growth.
The minister highlighted the developmental and investment role of the National Investment Bank and its subsidiaries, including Ayady for Investment and Development, in supporting national projects and strengthening partnerships with the private sector.
He also outlined Egypt’s competitive advantages for investors, including free and investment zones, the Golden Licence, streamlined expansion procedures, and access to competitively priced energy and skilled labour.
Americana Foods representatives reaffirmed their interest in expanding co-operation in Egypt and exploring investment opportunities, including agricultural investment and food industries with Mostakbal Misr.
Rostom invited the company’s executives to visit Egypt to explore investment opportunities and meet relevant ministers and authorities to accelerate expansion plans in manufacturing, agricultural investment and exports.
