Egypt’s Minister of Industry, Khaled Hashem, held talks on Tuesday with a delegation from Turkey’s Gürok Group led by Vice Chairperson Esin Gural Argat to discuss the group’s plan to establish a new export-oriented industrial project into Egypt.
The meeting reviewed a proposed glass tableware manufacturing project spanning 150,000 square meters and expected to create around 1,000 jobs.
Discussions also covered the group’s plans to use advanced industrial technologies and modern systems to improve energy and water efficiency and enhance production processes.
The minister affirmed the Ministry of Industry’s support for serious investors seeking to establish industries that contribute to technology transfer, job creation, and strengthening local manufacturing capabilities.
He stressed the ministry’s readiness to coordinate with relevant authorities to help remove obstacles facing the project and accelerate procedures to bring the factory into operation.
Hashem also reviewed the investment incentives currently offered to the industrial sector, particularly export incentives that the group could benefit from.
For her part, Esin Gural Argat said the group is keen to expand its investments in Egypt, describing the country as one of the company’s most strategic markets in the region and a gateway to Middle Eastern and African markets.
She noted that Gürok Group is the world’s fifth-largest producer of glass products and exports to around 140 countries.
