Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry, Neveen Gamie, discussed on Thursday investment co-operation during a meeting in Cairo with a delegation of the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development.

Egypt, she said, is keen on enhancing co-operation with all Arab investment institutions and translating this co-operation into tangible production projects that serve the Egyptian economy, create jobs and provide locally-made products with high quality and competitive prices.

The Egyptian minister added that her ministry offers all the necessary support to all Arab and international investors so that they can start actual investments in the Egyptian market and take advantage of the huge investment opportunities available in this country.

“We also want these projects to benefit from the incentives provided and programmes made by the government for the benefit of the investors,” Minister Gamie said.

The Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development delegation was headed by authority head Mohamed Bin Obaid al-Mazrouei and comprised a host of senior authority officials.

Discussions between the minister and the members of the delegation focused on a number of the authority’s current and future projects in Egypt.

Minister Gamie said the authority’s expansion plans in the Egyptian market reflect its great confidence in the importance and feasibility of investment in Egypt.

“This is one of the most important markets in the Middle East,” the minister said.

She added that the government welcomes the new projects that the authority considers launching in Egypt in the coming period.

Meanwhile, the delegation of the authority expressed interest in implementing a series of projects in the fields of cheese production, tuna and beans processing and canning and farming.

They said their authority is also interested in implementing a number of projects in the fields of vegetables and fish production and the production of corn, soybeans, potato seeds and strategic crops.

Al-Mazrouei, for his part, said Egypt is high in the list of countries where his authority plans expansion in the coming period.

“Our projects in Arab states primarily aim to achieve Arab food security by implementing sustainable agricultural development projects,” al-Mazrouei said.
