The centre, affiliated to the Faculty of Archaeology of Cairo University, will be inaugurated very soon, added Elkhosht in statements Monday.
The centre will become an important cultural hub in Upper Egypt, he pointed out.
The center seeks to make partnerships with international universities to organise special training courses in Egyptian archaeology, the university’s president said.
The centre will as well host students to attend workshops and pay visits to Luxor city, according to him.
He further noted the centre will launch an international magazine about Egyptian antiquities to let archaeologists worldwide learn more about Egypt’s artifacts.
Elkhosht added efforts will be focused on co-operating with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities regarding the conduction of applied researches in excavations and archaeological sites.
