Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi underlined the importance of strengthening Arab unity and solidarity.
He stressed Egypt’s keenness on promoting joint Arab relations and supporting Arab countries’ efforts to realize stability and development.
He accentuated that Egypt’s and Arab peace and stability are interrelated.
Sisi made the remarks during a meeting with a delegation of Arab parliament speakers and heads of teams taking part in the Congress of Speakers of Arab Councils and Parliaments which kicked off earlier Saturday at the Arab League HQ.
Sisi stressed Egypt’s continued support for Arab parliaments through exchanging expertise and integration with Arab countries.
The president commended an Arab Parliament decision to focus on food security in the the current gathering in light of the international food crisis.
Meanwhile, participants in the meeting said the congress is interested in drawing up a joint parliamentary vision for promoting Arab action in the face of the serious challenges facing the Arab world.
They lauded the efforts exerted by Egypt under the leadership of President Sisi and his honorable stances in defending Arab national security.
They commended the political and development drives that Egypt has adopted over the past years and which have enabled it to withstand many daunting regional challenges.
