Senate says it supports Sisi in all measures to protect national security 1 - Egyptian Gazette

Senate Speaker Abdel Wahab Abdel Razeq said on Wednesday that the upper house of parliament endorses and supports President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in all measures he takes to protect the Egyptian national security, safeguard the state’s borders and support the Palestinian people.

Abdel Razeq made the remarks during an emergency session of the Senate to discuss the repercussions of the situation in the Palestinian territories.

The Senate is following up with deep sorrow and pain the brutal Israeli assault against the brotherly Palestinian people, he said, stressing that the aggression is unjustified and contravenes all treaties, conventions, international norms, and humanitarian values, he said.

The Senate condemns this war and considers it ethnic cleansing and a genocidal war launched by Israeli forces against the unarmed, besieged people of Gaza. It left thousands of people, including children, women and the elderly, dead and wounded, he added.

The Israeli forces had no mercy on patients at Al-Ahli Arabi Baptist Hospital in eastern Gaza, as hundreds of the hospital’s patients were killed and injured after it was shelled, he noted.

Abdel Razeq pointed out that the Senate calls on the international community and the world’s parliaments to condemn this war, and take decisive positions and measures to stop it and hold those responsible for it accountable. (MENA)
