Egypt’s Minister of State for Environmental Affairs Yasmine Fouad on Sunday signed a co-operation agreement with the European Union (EU) to obtain a grant of 4 million euros.
The agreement comes in the context of co-operation between the Ministry of Environment and the EU regarding environment protection and support for Egyptian industry.
This grant is part of the 145 million-eurofund allocated for phase three of the Environment Pollution Abatement Programme (EPAP).
The programmeis being implemented in partnership with the EU, the European Investment Bank, the French Development Agency and the German Reconstruction Bank.
EPAP supports Egyptian public and private industries to invest in pollution abatement technologies, to assist them in meeting environment regulations, the minister said.
