CAIRO – Egyptian Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mohamed Shaker discussed on Monday with Kazakh Ambassador in Cairo Khairat Lama Sharif means to boost co-operation and increase investment chances in Egypt’s electricity and renewable energy sector.

Shaker hailed the successful steps taken by the electricity and renewable energy sector in co-operation with Germany’s Siemens and local partners in carrying out giant electricity stations in Beni Suef, Borols and the New Administrative City to add 14,400 megawatts to the grid with the most cutting edge technology to reduce gas emissions and use of fuel.

He added that Egypt works on supporting African countries’ efforts to get clean energy from renewable energy.

Minister Shaker added that the electricity linkage projects with Jordan, Libya, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Cyprus and Greece will turn Egypt into a hub for exchanging energy with Europe and Arab and African countries.
