Egypt’s Military Spokesman Staff Colonel Gharib Abdel Hafez said that an attempt to smuggle 300 kilograms of drugs was foiled in the northeastern strategic zone.
Three of the smugglers were killed during the attempt, Abdel Hafez said.
In a statement on Thursday, Abdel Hafez added that this comes in continuation of efforts to guard the Egyptian borders, adding that the Armed Forces are exerting their utmost to protect the homeland against any threats.
