Food products account for 75 per cent of Indonesia’s exports to Egypt, a high-ranking diplomat announced recently.
Indonesian Ambassador to Cairo Lutfi Rauf added: “We hope that Indonesian businessmen can continue to promote premium Indonesian products to Egypt even though the global economic environment is not stable.”
The ambassador was speaking at the opening of the Indonesian Pavilion at the 7th Food Africa Exhibition, which was held on 5-7 December at the International Exhibition Centre.
In August 2022, the volume of trade between Indonesia and Egypt was worth $1.2 billion — a 7.7 per cent increase compared to 2021, according to an Indonesian report.
Among the Indonesian products on display were palm oil derivatives, coffee, spices, bottled beverages, herbs, in addition to industrial and domestic waste treatment equipment.
Over 700 exhibitors from 30 countries took part in the exhibition.
