Sisi inspects SCA in Ismailia, opens Olympic Village

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi is scheduled to inspect on Thursday morning the Suez Canal Authority (SCA) in Ismailia.

The president opened on Thursday an Olympic Village of the Suez Canal Authority (SCA) in Ismailia, Spokesman Bassam Radi said on Thursday.

Sisi stood on a blow-by-blow report on the Olympic Village facilities and playgrounds.

Accompanied by SCA Chairman Osama Rabie, the president inspected the Olympic Village.

While inspecting the Olympic Village of the SCA in Ismailia, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi witnessed through the cabin of SCA’s stadium a show to welcome the opening of the Olympic Village.

A host of youth lined up while chanting the phrase “Long Live Egypt” to welcome President Sisi.

Following the inauguration, Mohamed Anani, the general supervisor of the SCA’s Olympic Village project, presented a detailed explanation about the establishments of the village.

The village, which was established on a total area of 350,000 square metres, includes the latest sports stadiums, a complex of swimming pools and a sports health club that houses a gym, sauna and jacuzzi, Anani said.

The village also contains a set of multiple courts for handball, basketball and volleyball training, in addition to a speedball court, as well as the main covered hall that can accommodate about 2,300 spectators, fully air-conditioned, and contains four changing rooms and a VIP hall.

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi also listened to a detailed explanation about the stadium of SCA.

With a capacity of about 21,000 people, the gigantic stadium is also equipped to receive people of determination.

The stadium was also implemented and designed in line with the requirements of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

The new stadium also houses a hotel suite containing 60 hotel beds along with a health club, which is built on a total area of 850 square meters.

Following inspecting the Olympic Village, President Sisi left for inaugurating a number of new naval units for the Suez Canal Authority.

Sisi is also set to attend the inauguration of new marine units and review the progress realised so far in developing the Suez Canal’s southern part.
