BD (Becton, Dickinson, and Company) (NYSE: BDX), a leading global medical technology company, inaugurated its Scientific Office in Egypt to establish itself as a preferred medical technology partner for patient safety and healthcare worker safety solutions in the country.
Launching a Scientific Office in Egypt is a part of the company’s continued efforts to enhance the quality of patient care and healthcare worker safety in the region. With Egypt being the third-largest healthcare market in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), BD recognized the need to have a footprint in the country to raise awareness about the adoption of medical technology to further bolster the country’s healthcare infrastructure to be more resilient and sustainable.
“We are expanding our investment across the region and are always looking for opportunities to enhance the quality of patient care,” said Maher Elhassan, Vice President and General Manager for BD in MENAT. “The launch of our Egypt Scientific Office reflects our purpose of advancing the world of health and our endeavor to help build more resilient and sustainable healthcare systems. This move is a strategic step which will not only improve patient outcomes in the country but will greatly contribute to strengthening our safety movement in the region.”
The Egypt office will be led by Loay Badr. Loay brings more than 25 years of experience in healthcare and is responsible for partnering with customers to enhance the quality of care they provide to patients.

BD will focus on working with local authorities and organizations to improve accessibility to medical technology and creating awareness, contributing to the growth of Egypt and ensuring high-quality care for patients.
