Iran’s security chief Mohsen Rezaei warned that US-linked data centres, artificial intelligence facilities and other technological infrastructure in the region could be targeted if Washington launched another attack against Iran.
Rezaei told Iran’s state-run Press TV that more than $2 trillion worth of US-linked technology infrastructure in the region could be at risk if hostilities resumed.
“The pulse of the American economy in this region runs through our part of the world,” he said, pointing to major US investments in data centers and artificial intelligence facilities across the Middle East.
“We have not yet included these assets among our targets. But if war breaks out, many of these cables, data centers, artificial intelligence facilities, and numerous other sites will be destroyed,” Rezaei warned.
The comments signal a potential expansion of targets to include critical technology and communications infrastructure in the event of renewed conflict with the US.
