Chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA), Ali El-Ghamrawy, and L’Oréal Egypt CEO Mohamed El-Araby, held talks on Tuesday aiming to probe avenues for boosting co-operation and supporting the development of Egypt’s cosmetics sector.

The meeting is part of the authority’s efforts to enhance collaboration with leading global companies and coordinate mechanisms to advance this vital industry, according to an official press release.

EDA is proceeding with building a modern regulatory environment that supports innovation and investment in the cosmetics field, noting that partnerships with global leaders are key to transferring expertise and localising best international practices, El-Ghamrawy said.

He reaffirmed the authority’s commitment to applying the highest regulatory standards to ensure the quality and safety of products in the market, helping protect consumer health and boost the competitiveness of Egyptian products regionally and globally.

For their part, L’Oréal representatives praised the EDA’s role in regulating and overseeing the cosmetics sector, voicing readiness to expand co-operation and support investment in line with international standards.

They also commended the authority’s efforts to streamline procedures and strengthen the regulatory framework, enhancing investor confidence in the Egyptian market.

The meeting reviewed L’Oréal Egypt’s structure and operations, alongside potential joint initiatives and participation in events highlighting the economic and social impact of the company’s investments.
