The Third Field Army has inaugurated the Fortified Point Shrine at Ayoun Musa, which has undergone a complete restoration, reflecting the profound historical and national importance of the site.
The reopening of the shrine coincides with the 52nd anniversary of the glorious October victories.
Third Field Army Commander Maj. Gen. Ahmed Mahdi Sarhan and Suez Governor Maj. Gen. Tarek Hamed El-Shazly attended the reopening ceremony of the site, along with a host of other dignitaries.
The development project encompassed a comprehensive upgrade of the site, including the restoration of the original military fortifications and concrete bunkers constructed by the enemy to preserve its authentic military character.
Safe and accessible visitor pathways were established, while the infrastructure and service facilities were modernized.
A series of murals and artistic installations were also created in co-operation with the Department of Art Education at the Faculty of Education in Suez University. The murals and the installations depict scenes of Egyptian army heroism during the October War.
Maj. Gen. Sarhan conveyed the greetings and appreciation of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Lt. Gen. Abdel Meguid Saqr and Chief-of-Staff of the Armed Forces Lt. Gen. Ahmed Khalifa to ceremony attendees.
He reaffirmed the General Command’s commitment to maintaining co-operation with all state institutions in implementing the comprehensive development plan for Sinai to transform it into a global destination that tells the story of the valour and sacrifices of the Egyptian army in defending Egypt.
Governor el-Shazly, for his part, expressed gratitude to the Armed Forces for their vital role in safeguarding national security and their continued support for civil development efforts across the country.
He further highlighted the historical and symbolic value of the Ayoun Musa Fortified Point, describing it as one of the most prominent landmarks that embody the courage, resilience, and heroism of the Egyptian Armed Forces during the October War.
