Cairo- Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi asserted that Egypt spares no effort to help crisis-hit Arab countries restore their security through comprehensive political solutions that include simultaneous steps and procedures based on unifying the military institution, expelling foreign forces and mercenaries, ending the phenomenon of armed militias and activating the will of the peoples.
The President’s remarks came during the extraordinary meeting of Arab Intelligence Forum, which was held in Cairo on Tuesday, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said.
During the forum, the President praised efforts by participants to enrich the work of the Forum since its establishment. He noted that this is a unique forum in the region as it enhances joint Arab cooperation and security information.
This was embodied through the initiatives launched by the Forum’s members for joint security work and the exchange of assessments in complete transparency about the sources of threats surrounding the Arab region, the President added.
The President also underscored the principle of joint responsibility in confronting the challenges facing the region, especially the phenomenon of terrorism and extremist ideology, which requires comprehensive approaches in dealing with regional crises.
This can be achieved by focusing on ending foreign interference in the affairs of the Arab region and respecting the decision and will of peoples and the sovereignty of states.
For their part, the participating heads of the Arab intelligence services thanked the President for his continued patronage of the work of the “Arab Intelligence Forum”, stressing the importance of the forum as a strong and supportive mechanism for close intelligence cooperation between Arab countries.
They also praised the forum’s contribution to establishing an integrated system to combat terrorism based on the exchange of expertise and the continuous updating and development of terrorism confrontation mechanisms in a way that maintains Arab national security and achieves the cherished aspirations of Arab peoples.
