CAIRO – Egypt’s Local Development Minister Hesham Amna said the ministry-affiliated inspection and control department is one of the important mechanisms used to combat corruption and connections.
The minister has reviewed the department’s efforts over the past year on fighting corruption at municipal councils.
The department coordinates, cooperates and exchanges information with all state-run relevant control bodies to combat corruption at all levels, Amna said, noting that the Local Development Ministry notifies the respective bodies about any violations committed nationwide.
