Minister of Civil Aviation, Sameh el-Hefny, attended, on the sidelines of the second edition of the Egypt International Airshow (EIAS 2026), the signing ceremony for a contract to supply 10 new Cessna 172S training aircraft to the Egyptian Aviation Academy (EAA). The contract also includes engines, spare parts, propellers, and the necessary ground equipment, supporting the academy’s plans to develop its training fleet and enhance its operational readiness.

Also, El-Hefny attended, alongside Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Duailej, President of the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation, the signing of a co-operation agreement between the Egyptian Aviation Academy (EAA) and the Saudi Academy of Civil Aviation (SACA).

The agreement was signed by Chairman of the Egyptian Aviation Academy, Captain Ezzat Metwally, and Chairman and CEO of the Saudi Academy of Civil Aviation, Wajeh bin Hamed Matau.

The co-operation includes exchanging training programmes and courses, instructors and faculty members, as well as expertise, consultations, specialised studies, and research in the field of civil aviation.
