Monday, May 5, 1975 – President Anwar El Sadat has officially directed the establishment of the Supreme Press Council by the end of this week.
In a move to restructure the national media landscape, the President confirmed that the new body will oversee the professional affairs of the Egyptian press. Furthermore, the government announced a landmark social welfare scheme, granting new pensions to widows, divorced women, and the elderly, ensuring broader financial security across the nation.
