Marilyn Monroe makes 1st public appearance after illness

17 September 1956 – Marilyn Monroe made her first public appearance following her recent illness on September 7. Accompanied by her husband, Arthur Miller, she attended a performance by the Berliner Ensemble at a London theatre. Miss Monroe, who had been ill since the weekend, was expected to return to work at Pinewood Film Studios early that week.
