Egypt’s Trade and Industry Minister Ahmed Samir asserted his ministry’s keenness on promoting co-operation with all business organisations to reach a unified vision for the future of industry.
This came during his meetings with Head of the Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI) Mohamed el Sewedy and Chairman of the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce (FEDCOC) Ibrahim el Arabi.
During the meetings, the minister said that his ministry will work together with the business community, stressing that the coming period will focus on adopting a participatory approach, with all parties concerned to unify efforts and reach a unified vision for the future of trade and industry in Egypt.
The private sector plays a key role in the economic development system in Egypt, particularly in light of the great importance attached by the political leadership and the government to develop all industrial sectors to meet the local market’s needs and beef up exports.
He added that the government and the private sector should step up their efforts to confront global economic challenges and their repercussions on the Egyptian economy.
The coming period will witness extensive meetings with the boards of directors of the two federations and the rest of the business organisations to review the challenges facing the business community and find swift solutions to them, the minister further noted.
