CAIRO – Egypt’s Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Ali el Moslehi issued a decision announcing the start of the summer sale season on August 7.
The season will run for a month, his ministry said in a statement.
The ministry stressed the need for the shops participating in the season to obtain prior approval from the Supply and Internal Trade directorates nationwide.
The ministry said that all participating shops must announce the price of goods before and after the sale.
Spokesman for the ministry Ahmed Kamal said the goal of the sale is to stimulate internal trade and encourage citizens to purchase more than one product at lower prices.
The spokesman noted the sale includes clothing shops, household appliances stores, leather stores (shoes and bags) and other commercial activities as well.
