A six-year-old girl, suffering from a rare condition that impairs movement, is to undergo a plasma exchange procedure at state expense, as per order of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Tuesday.
Rodina, who lives with her grandfather in Imbaba, Giza, was taken by a fully-equipped ambulance to a hospital in Cairo, where she will undergo tests and treatment.
Rodina’s grandfather expressed his delight and gratitude for President Sisi’s rapid response.
Rodina has been suffering from this rare disease since she was two. She cannot move her limbs and that she needs three plasma exchanges costing LE120,000.
“But we could not afford the costs,” Rodina’s grandfather said.
“Thank you, President Sisi! Father of all Egyptians. You have restored hope in our hearts,” he said.
