Nesma Airlines has announced the launch of a new direct air route connecting Cairo International Airport and Sabiha Gökçen International Airport, with three weekly flights starting on May 22.
The move is part of the airline’s expansion plan to strengthen its international network and support tourism and travel between Egypt and Türkiye.
The new route comes in response to growing demand for travel between the two countries, as well as the improving relations between Egypt and Türkiye in tourism, trade, and investment, which is expected to boost travel and economic exchange.

CEO Karim Baqi said the new flights will offer a full-service travel experience aimed at providing passengers with a high level of comfort. He also noted that the launch reflects the company’s expansion strategy, alongside the growth of its fleet, which has recently included more than five new aircraft, including Airbus A320 and A321 models.
He added that the Cairo–Istanbul route is an important step in the airline’s presence in the Turkish market, and that the company is also considering additional routes within Türkiye in response to market demand.
Flights are scheduled to begin on May 22, with bookings available through Nesma Airlines’ official website or authorised travel agents.
