CAIRO – Egyptian Finance Minister Mohamed Maeet said the outcomes of the final statement of 2021-2022 general budget reflect the national economy’s ability to contain shocks.
The minister reiterated in a statement on Thursday that the final statement, approved by the House of Representatives, shows commitment to the ongoing financial discipline as the government is keen to address global challenges, handle inflation, make initial surplus, cut budget deficit and expand social protection networks.
The Ministry of Finance is committed to coordinating with the bodies concerned to put into effect the recommendations of the House’s budget and planning committee and the notes of the Central Auditing Organization on the 2021-2022 fiscal year, Maeet added.
