Minister of State for Military Production Salah Suleiman Gombalat held talks with Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Abdelaziz Konsowa to explore avenues for expanding joint cooperation, with a focus on linking scientific research to industrial development.
Gombalat said the meeting reflects the government’s commitment to implementing Egypt Vision 2030, which prioritizes transforming education into a key driver of economic and industrial growth.
Discussions focused on maximizing the use of research outputs from universities and research centers by converting them into practical applications with direct economic returns.
The two sides also emphasized developing specialized education and training programmes to equip graduates with advanced technological skills that meet labor market demands, particularly in priority industrial sectors.
Gombalat highlighted the ministry’s readiness to support practical training for university students within its industrial facilities, as well as exploring opportunities to implement graduation projects using available expertise and infrastructure.
He added that efforts are underway to promoteentrepreneurship by supporting researchers in launching startups, in cooperation with national innovation bodies.
For his part, Konsowa stressed the importance of strengthening partnerships to translate research into industrial solutions.
He highlighted upcoming initiatives, including the “Professor for Every Factory” programme, aimed at aligning innovation with industry needs and enhancing production efficiency and quality.
He also noted the formation of a high-level committee to review academic programmes, ensure alignment with labour market needs, and improve graduate employability.
