Cairo, Egypt – In a concerted effort to address the escalating crisis in Gaza, the leaders of Egypt, France, and Jordan convened a conference call on Monday with the President of the United States. The discussion took place on the periphery of a trilateral summit held in Cairo, focusing on immediate actions to secure a ceasefire, ensure the unimpeded flow of humanitarian assistance, and facilitate the release of all hostages and detainees.
Egyptian presidential spokesperson Mohamed El-Shennawy reported that the leaders underscored the critical necessity of establishing a comprehensive political framework to achieve a lasting resolution to the conflict.
During the call, the leaders jointly appealed for intensified international engagement to alleviate the immense suffering of the Palestinian population, restore stability to the region, and advance the principles of a two-state solution, according to El-Shennawy.
The discussions also extended to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. In this context, the leaders reiterated the urgent need for a peaceful resolution in accordance with the tenets of international law, Shennawy added.
Concluding the engagement, all participating parties reached a consensus on the importance of maintaining close and consistent communication to address these pressing global challenges, the spokesperson confirmed.
