The East Port Said Port has received the dry bulk vessel GENCO LION, arriving from Nouadhibou Port in Mauritania, General Authority of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) has announced that said on Sunday.
The vessel berthed at the multi-purpose “Sky Ports” terminal to discharge a cargo of approximately 173,000 tonns of iron ore, reflecting the port’s growing operational capabilities and readiness to handle new generations of dry bulk carriers.
The GENCO LION measures 292 meters in length, 45 meters in width, with a draft of 17.7 meters.
The vessel’s arrival underscores the port’s deep-water readiness and the efficiency of its infrastructure, particularly the operational preparedness of the “Sky Ports” terminal.
The achievement highlights East Port Said’s expanding ability to accommodate vessels of varying sizes and capacities, reinforcing its role as a pivotal hub for international trade and enhancing the competitiveness of Egyptian ports.
