Egypt’s Minister of Waqf and Islamic Affairs Osama El-Azhari toured today the Royal Malaysian Police College, during his visit to the South Asian nation.
The visit aimed to strengthen co-operation between Egypt and Malaysia in endowments and religious education and promote Islamic values of tolerance and moderation.
The minister delivered a lecture at Ahmad Shah Hall as part of implementing the memorandum of understanding signed in Cairo in November 2024, witnessed by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
Minister Azhari emphasized that national security and religious duties are intertwined, urging police officers to be beacons of safety during crises and highlighting their service as a divinely rewarded responsibility.
Malaysian police officials honored the minister for his role in strengthening religious and cultural ties between Egypt and Malaysia, presenting him with the Royal Academy Shield.
