Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayeb has arrived in Rome to participate in the International Meeting for Peace.
Organised by the international Catholic association Community of Sant’Egidio, the conference will take place in Rome. Egypt’s Ambassador to Italy Bassam Rady received the grand imam at the airport.
He said Sheikh al-Tayeb would deliver a keynote speech at the opening session of the conference, with a focus on the moral and humanitarian responsibility of religious leaders to work towards ending wars, conflicts, and divisions.
