CAIRO – Egypt’s Manpower Minister Mohamed Safaan handed over Thursday about 11,370 insurance policies to irregular workers at Orascom Company, bringing to 24,366 the number of insurance documents issued so far.
The insurance, covers personal accident, death and permanent total or partial disability, is worth LE200,000.
In press statements, Safaan said that the number of insurance documents now stands at 500,00 nationwide in order to secure a decent life for vulnerable people.
The move came in line with the “Decent Life” presidential initiative, which aims to improve living standards of needy people, added the minister.
Providing the necessary care and support to the irregular workers will be successful only through establishing a database that registers their exact number and information about them, he went on to say.
