Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek el Molla said his ministry succeeded in resolving the problem of butane gas cylinders in the past six years, thanks to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s support.
Molla’s remarks came during a meeting of the general assembly of PetroGas company to approve the 2020/2023 budget, according to a statement released by the Petroleum Ministry on Sunday.
The petroleum minister added that the development of the butane gas system came in line with the expansion in projects for supplying cities and villages with natural gas, which led to a decline in the annual consumption of butane gas from 4.2 tons in 2018 to 3.6 million tons in 2021.
Molla stated that the butane gas system’s development included enhancing the operations of reception, transportation, shipping, filling, handling and distribution.
Molla lauded the development of butane gas cylinders’ production and filling sites in the past year, as part of a comprehensive program for improving all production sites.
