KUKWAIT CITY – The visit of Sheikh Meshal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, Emir of Kuwait, to Egypt is a culmination of many years of well-connected ties, Editor-in-Chief of “Al-Rai” Kuwaiti newspaper Waleed J. Al-Jassim said.
This is the second visit to an Arab state by the emir of Kuwait, which demonstrates how the political leadership in Kuwait appreciates the role played by Egypt and its leader President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, Jassim told MENA in statements on Monday.
He emphasized the importance of coordination between both countries to deal with Arab as well as global issues.
Jassim commended Egypt’s role in the first educational renaissance in Kuwait, as well as the urban development Kuwait witnessed after it gained independence from Britain in the early 1960s. He also hailed Egypt’s major and distinguished role in staving off the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in 1990.
Jassim concluded his statements by expressing his country’s profound interest in seeking further investments in Egypt, a country that offers a multitude of major investment opportunities.
