The Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) has secured a significant new investment, signing a contract with China’s Shaoxing Beiqi Textile to establish a ready-made garments factory. Located in the West Qantara Industrial Zone, the $7 million project is fully self-financed and is set to create approximately 3,000 direct jobs.

The new 16,000-square-metre facility is projected to produce over 10 million pieces of clothing annually. A substantial 90 per cent of this output will be for export, with the remaining 10 per cent designated for the local market. This investment highlights West Qantara’s growing appeal for export-oriented industries, particularly within the textile and garment sector.

This latest addition brings the total number of projects in the West Qantara Industrial Zone to 21, representing combined investments of $603.5 million and generating over 30,600 direct jobs. The SCZone’s strategic location, efficient logistics, and comprehensive services offer a strong competitive advantage, especially for labor-intensive industries like textiles.

Shaoxing Beiqi, established in 2008 and headquartered in Shaoxing, Zhejiang, China, is a prominent textile manufacturer integrating design, production, trade, and export. The company boasts strong partnerships with major international brands and operates a fully integrated supply chain.
