CAIRO – Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli gave directives to form a working group to study proposals on establishing service projects that operate under the free zone system.

This came on Monday during a meeting to weigh these proposals in the presence of Finance Minister Mohamed Maeet, Deputy Finance Minister for Financial policies Ahmed Kouchouk and Executive Director of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones Hossam Heiba.

The talks come within the framework of meetings that target studying policies to create an attractive atmosphere for investments in numerous sectors, Madbouli said.

The meeting tackled efforts exerted to support industrial and production projects that work under the system of special free zones along with proposals related to establishing service projects applying the same system, Spokesman for the Cabinet Nader Saad said.

The meeting took up incentives and facilities that can be offered to startups working in these service projects and the financial advantages of establishing them in addition to steps taken by the government to boost exports, localise advanced technology and encourage entrepreneurship and technological innovation as well as distance learning, research and development activities and outsourcing businesses, the spokesman said.
