Egypt condemned a rise in drone attacks targeting civilian and vital facilities in Sudan, saying they had caused civilian casualties and damaged infrastructure.
The attacks were a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Egypt reiterated its complete rejection of violence targeting civilians and stressed the need to protect them from the risks of military operations.
Egypt also renewed its call for an end to the flow of weapons to the Rapid Support Forces militia through Sudan’s neighbouring countries.
It reaffirmed its support for Sudan’s unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity, and for preserving its national institutions. Egypt also stressed that neighbouring countries should respect Sudan’s sovereignty and security and refrain from interfering in its internal affairs.
Egypt called for intensified regional and international efforts to reach a ceasefire and ensure humanitarian aid could enter. It also called for conditions that would enable a comprehensive political settlement, end the suffering of the Sudanese people and meet their aspirations for security and stability.
