Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said Egypt is a strong partner to Denmark and Europe.
She congratulated Egypt for its successful organization of the 2022 UN climate conference, COP27.
Speaking at a joint press conference with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi following their talks in the Al-Ittihadiya Presidential Palace in Cairo on Monday, Frederiksen said she discussed with President Sisi challenges facing the world, particularly climate change and the future of green energy.
The talks were fruitful and tackled a vast array of issues, especially those connected with energy, illegal migration and global challenges, she said, underscoring commitment to sustainable future for all coming generations and youth in Egypt, Africa and the world.
The Danish prime minister pointed out that illegal migration is a joint challenge and that Egypt is an important partner to the EU in the fight against human trafficking and illegal migration.
She expressed pleasure with the strong cooperation with Egypt in many areas, including those of border control, refugees and promotion of partnerships.
She said the talks tackled the current global political situation and repercussions of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, especially in Africa.
Frederiksen said she is willing to closely work with African countries, including Egypt, to solve the food and energy crisis.
