The Egyptian Ministry of Finance continues to provide all manner of support to the export sector in according with presidential directives in this regard, an official statement said on Thursday.
Finance Minister Mohamed Maait said in his statement on Thursday that support comes within efforts to drive exports up to $100 billion, which could lead to improvement in living standards and public services.
The Export Development Fund is still paying out rebates to exporters, granting them liquidity to sustain their businesses and honour their liabilities despite the challenges in global markets due to supply chain disruption and rising commodity prices and shipping costs, he said.
Arrears of LE42.5 billion were repaid to 2,500 companies from the Export Development Fund within the initiative that was launched in 2019, he added.
