Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief and Defence and Military Production Minister Lieutenant General Ashraf Salem Zaher attended war inspection procedures for a formation of the Northern Military Region to assess its readiness to carry out all assigned missions efficiently.

The inspection was attended by Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, branch commanders and a number of military leaders, as well as several governors, members of the House of Representatives and the Senate, media figures, students of military institutes, and cadets of the Egyptian Military Academy and Egyptian universities.

Northern Military Region Commander Major General Yasser Abdel Moez El-Khatib said the Armed Forces’ General Command was providing continued support to the region’s formations and units to help them reach the highest levels of combat efficiency to carry out their missions in defending the nation’s security and territorial integrity.

The procedures included a presentation of the topographic briefing of the assembly area, followed by a march-past of lined-up equipment from various branches, which showed the level of development and modernisation reached by the Armed Forces in weapon systems across all specialisations.
Zaher inspected the assembled troops to check their readiness and the technical and combat efficiency of weapons and equipment. He also questioned a number of participating personnel on how they carry out their tasks, praising their understanding of their assigned missions in a way that achieves an integrated combat system, whose key elements include a professional fighter and advanced weapons and equipment.

He conveyed the greetings and appreciation of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the Armed Forces’ Supreme Commander, to the men of the Northern Military Region, noting that the Armed Forces always seek to develop training and armament systems across all main branches, formations and units to boost their combat capabilities on sound scientific foundations, enabling them to counter threats amid rapid regional changes.

He stressed that protecting the country’s borders in all strategic directions is a noble message and sacred duty for the Armed Forces’ fighters, whatever sacrifices it may entail.
