Vice President of the Supreme Constitutional Court Judge Adel Omar Sherif reiterated Thursday President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s keenness on boosting relations with the African brothers given the deeply-rooted relations binding Egypt with the continent.

Since assuming office in 2014, President Sisi was keen to attach special importance to enhancing EgyptianAfrican relations, making them the main foundation of the Egyptian policy.

Judge Sherif was speaking at a press conference to announce details of the fifth high-level meeting grouping heads of African constitutional courts and councils that will be held on June 11-16 under the sponsorship of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.

Judge Sherif said 40 countries would take part in the high-level meeting, adding that those who will not be able to travel to Cairo for the meeting due to Covid-19 concerns will take part via videoconferencing and that strict precautionary measures will be applied during the meeting to contain the pandemic outbreak.
The Saturday meeting will be held at a critical time given travel restrictions promoted by the outbreak of coronavirus, he added.

The meeting would tackle achieving maximum judicial protection as well as legislative amendments, he said, adding that the meeting would include a number of sessions to be held over three days.

The meeting would look into four pivots; fighting terrorism, digital transformation, , healthcare and green economy, he said
