Egypt and Pakistan yesterday concluded their joint air defence exercises ‘Sky Guards-1’, held in Egypt for the first time.
In the final phase of the drills, air defence units from both sides fired ground-to-air missiles and demonstrated anti-aircraft artillery.
The exercise showed the high levels of speed and accuracy in the search and destruction of enemy targets.
Commander of Egyptian Air Defense Force Major-General Mohamed Hegazy in his final address commended the standards demonstrated by units taking part in ‘Sky Guards-1’.
He also conveyed greetings from Egypt’s Minister of Defense and Military Production, General Mohamed Zaki, and Chief of Staff Lieutenant-General Mohamed Farid.
For his part, Commander of Army Air Defence Command (AAD), Lieutenant General Hamood uz-Zaman Khan, stressed the importance of Sky Guards -1 with Egyptian Air Defence, implying the deep-rooted ties of partnership and strategic cooperation between the two countries.
