CAIRO – Five Egyptian players qualified for the finals of the Artistic Gymnastics World Cup, on the first day of the championship that is held in Cairo until June 7.
Dual Mandy Mahgoub and Zina Ibrahim qualified after coming third and fourth on parallel bars, Nancy Taman secured the first place on vault, Ali Zahran came first on rings and Abdel Rahman Abdel Halim came fourth on pommel horse.
Earlier on Thursday, Egypt’s Sports Minister Ashraf Sobhy inaugurated the competitions, in which more than 300 players representing 16 countries participate.
