Egypt on Monday strongly condemned Israel’s National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir’s incursion into the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque, accompanied by hundreds of settlers under Israeli police protection, describing it as a flagrant violation of the sanctity of Islamic holy sites and of the historic and legal status quo in occupied East Jerusalem.
Egypt warns that continued violations threaten regional stability, rejects any attempt to alter the status quo at Al-Aqsa Mosque or divide it temporally or spatially, and calls on the international community to fulfil its responsibilities and uphold relevant international resolutions.
