The Future of Egypt Authority for Sustainable Development (Mostaqbal Misr) has announced the implementation of an integrated system combining feed cultivation, animal breeding, and livestock and poultry production to help meet Egyptians’ needs while adhering to the highest food safety standards.
In a statement posted on Facebook on Wednesday, the authority said the system marks a major step forward in securing supplies of animal protein.
Egypt previously relied heavily on imports to meet domestic demand for meat and animal feed.
Price fluctuations highlighted the need for a more integrated system to strengthen local production, the authority said.
It added that its animal protein system would play a significant role in meeting Egyptians’ needs while maintaining high food safety standards.
Mostaqbal Misr is one of the state’s strategic arms for implementing the country’s development vision through major projects and effective partnerships with the private sector, aiming to achieve high and sustainable economic growth in line with Egypt Vision 2030.
