The Egyptian and French air forces have concluded the joint Amun-2026 air exercise, which was held over several days at a number of air bases across Egypt.
The drill is part of a series of joint exercises that the Egyptian Armed Forces conduct with brotherly and friendly nations. It involved multirole fighter jets of various types from both sides.
The training included theoretical and practical lectures on a range of subjects, aimed at unifying operational concepts and achieving integration and harmony among the participating units. Several joint sorties were also flown to practise attacking hostile targets and efficiently defending vital assets.
Aircraft also carried out air-to-air refuelling, along with interception missions to repel a simulated hostile air attack. The activities reflected the high level reached by the forces and their ability to manage joint air operations successfully.
The closing phase was attended by Air Vice Marshal Marc Le Boul, commander of the French Air Force, along with a number of Egyptian and French air force commanders, the French ambassador and a delegation from the French Embassy in Cairo.
