Egypt is participating in the 21st China International Small and Medium Enterprises Fair (CISMEF), being held in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, from September 3 to 6. The participation is part of efforts to strengthen economic and trade ties with China, promote partnerships between SMEs in the two countries and expand access for Egyptian products to international markets.
The participation is organised by the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA) in cooperation with the Egypt Expo & Convention Authority (EECA), with Egypt represented by a dedicated pavilion.
MSMEDA chief Mostafa Hassan said the exhibition offered an important platform for showcasing a range of Egyptian products and establishing contacts with companies and investors from around the world.
Egyptian businesses taking part operate in sectors including food products, clothing, handicrafts and heritage crafts. They represent several governorates, including Cairo, Sohag, Fayoum, Matrouh, Ismailia, Gharbia and Menoufia.
Hassan said the fair would help Egyptian companies expand into foreign markets through business meetings, partnerships and exposure to international market requirements and emerging trends in production, manufacturing and trade.
He also praised the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade for supporting SMEs and coordinating with EECA to expand their international marketing activities, in line with the government’s goal of increasing exports.
CISMEF is held annually in Guangzhou and is one of the leading international events dedicated to SMEs. Over its previous 20 editions, it has hosted around 56,000 exhibitors from more than 30 countries and attracted approximately four million visitors.
