Minister of Civil Aviation Sameh el-Hefny received on Thursday Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to Egypt Dejan Angelov Katarchev and his accompanying delegation to discuss prospects for expanding bilateral co-operation in the civil aviation sector.
As the meeting started, Minister Hefny welcomed the Bulgarian ambassador, highlighting the long-standing relations between Egypt and Bulgaria and their steady progress across a range of sectors, particularly civil aviation.
He also commended the ambassador’s efforts throughout his tenure in Egypt, noting that they had contributed significantly to strengthening bilateral ties and creating new opportunities for co-operation.
For his part, Ambassador Katarchev praised the close relationship between the two countries and lauded the significant progress achieved by Egypt’s civil aviation sector.
He reaffirmed Bulgaria’s commitment to maintaining close coordination with the Egyptian side to capitalise on available opportunities, expand bilateral co-operation and deliver tangible benefits for both nations.
The meeting reflected the ministry’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with countries around the world and advancing co-operation across various areas of air transport.
Discussions focused on the latest developments concerning the proposed air transport agreement between Egypt and Bulgaria.
Both sides expressed their shared interest in updating the bilateral framework governing air services to reflect the rapid developments in the civil aviation sector, enhance operational efficiency, facilitate passenger movement and serve the mutual interests of both countries.
