President Abdel Fattah El Sisi congratulated late on Friday the Egyptian national football team following their historic, first-ever qualification to the round of 16 in the FIFA World Cup.
On his offical Facebook account, the president said: “You have proven that belief in your abilities, competing with true team spirit, and unwavering determination to win are the keys to achieving great accomplishments. “I wish you every success in the challenges ahead, and, God willing, may this journey of achievement and national pride continue,” the president said.
The team secured this milestone following their standout group stage performance and a draw with Iran.
